Pancake Day: A Centerville, Iowa Tradition

The best time to visit Centerville, Iowa is surely Pancake Day. With free pancakes served annually to thousands of visitors, Pancake Day is about community, small-town pride, and fun.

Plus, Pancake Day is more than pancakes. There are games and crafts for children, parades (yes, parades plural), entertainment, a queen contest, and a fun run for the early risers.

The pancakes are prepared and served by a troop of local volunteers. The volunteers are happy to welcome locals and out-of-towners alike to celebrate our small town.

Like many local businesses, The Shoppes at Bradley Hall is proud to support the Pancake Day tradition. In fact, Pancake Day began in 1949 as a way to say “Thank You” to the people in the Centerville area for their patronage of Centerville businesses.
